ACL Injury, Reconstruction, and Rehabilitation

This comprehensive one-day course offers a thorough look at the theories and science of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, reconstruction, and rehabilitation.  You will learn how to identify common risk factors related to ACL injury and implement key components into a prevention program.  Common surgical and non-surgical interventions will be presented.   Post-surgical rehabilitation and conservative options will be discussed.   Lecture, demonstration, and lab will allow the rehab professional to restore full function by utilizing a comprehensive approach to ACL management.

Objectives

By the completion of the course the participant will be able to:

  1. List and describe the common anatomical, hormonal, and neuromuscular risk factors that may contribute to ACL injury.
  2. Discuss the components that contribute to an effective ACL injury prevention program.
  3. Design an effective injury prevention program.
  4. Describe the outcomes of rehabilitation programs for an ACL deficiency.
  5. Understand the management considerations for ACL deficient rehab.
  6. Identify candidates for non-surgical and surgical candidates following ACL injury.
  7. Discuss the principles and guidelines for ACL deficient rehabilitation.
  8. Understand graft options for single and double bundle, and all-inside ACL reconstruction procedures.
  9. List and describe the components of primary and revision ACL reconstruction.
  10. Describe the influence of concomitant injuries to ACL tears.
  11. Implement strategies to address complications to ACL reconstruction.

Brian Trembly has developed and taught a variety of continuing education courses for nearly 15 years. He graduated in 1999 with a master’s in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and earned a transitional doctorate in physical therapy in 2009 from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Brian is recognized as a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). He also holds certifications in manual therapy by the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and soft tissue manual tool level 1 by Medical Minds in Motion. Brian currently works in private practice treating a variety of orthopaedic and sports conditions with an emphasis in manual therapy.

Cancellations:
Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically, including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.
All unapplied transfers and credits will expire September 26, 2026.

Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will not be responsible for any charges incurred by the registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other than the CE event tuition.
