Participants will review the applicable anatomy in depth as it applies to everyday practice. Participants will be able to confidently evaluate and treat a cervical disorder, within the scope of their license, using current evidence. Correctly identifying patients that are appropriate for physical and/or occupational therapy, and screening for non-musculoskeletal disorders that warrant a medical referral will be reviewed. A review of common medical diagnoses that manifest with neuromusculoskeletal issues will be discussed to prepare participants for direct access situations.
Common disorders seen in physical and/or occupational therapy practice will be analyzed for proper evaluation and treatment integrating current evidence as it applies; focus will also be on lesion diagnosis of patients presenting as cervical pain with radicular/referred pain. Participants will be able to be confidently subcategorize patients into a treatment classification based on a patients clinic presentation. Once sub-grouped, participants will be able to apply appropriate hands-on techniques and skilled exercise prescription to expedite patient recovery.
