This UPDATED workshop meets the PT/PTA continuing education requirement for "the ethical practice of physical therapy, including jurisprudence" with an EXPANDED focus on the NEW Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapy Profession plus CHANGES and CONNECTIONS to the Illinois Physical Therapy Act.

To help ensure ethical and legal practice, this newest version in our 10+ year series of LIVE Ethics and Professional Issues workshops is a NECESSITY. This new 2026 workshop is specifically for Illinois PTs/PTAs, developed and presented by a physical therapist and educator with over 40 years of experience in Illinois.

Topics

Objectives

By the completion of the workshop you will be able to correctly:

  1. Utilize the Code of Ethics for the Physical Therapy Profession to guide ethical decision making in clinical practice.
  2. Recognize connections between the APTA Standards of Conduct, Illinois state-required trainings, and relevant Illinois laws particularly the Illinois Physical Therapy Act.
  3. Differentiate between abuse, fraud, and waste.
  4. Describe examples of jurisprudence in PT practice and professional documents highlighted in this workshop.

Cancellations:
Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically, including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.
All unapplied transfers and credits will expire September 26, 2026.

Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will not be responsible for any charges incurred by the registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other than the CE event tuition.
