Scrape and Tape - How to use soft-tissue mobilization with tools and kinesiology taping techniques to accelerate your client's goals!

Presented by Rehab Connections

Description

Your clients can present with numerous soft-tissue dysfunctions ranging from tendonitis to tendonosis, myofascial restrictions to fibrotic scar tissue. How can you treat them manually for the quickest results?

Your clients may also present with swelling; poor posture-tissues on one side locked long, while antagonistic tissues are locked short; and or inhibition of muscle activation resulting in aberrant movement patterns. How can you use elastic tape to "keep your hands on your client" in-between sessions?

Scrape and Tape will provide you with the understanding and immediately applicable skills to treat your client's soft-tissue and aberrant movement patterns using soft tissue mobilization with tools and elastic kinesiology tape (K-Tape). When used together, they provide a synergistic effect that can accelerate your client's return to pain-free moving!

Expand your treatment repertoire and provide your clients with the same skills and tools being requested by elite athletes and competitors across the country.

Instruction level: Various
CE contact hours: 8.0 (IL) *** Duration: 7.0 hours
Intended audience: PTs, PTAs, OTs, OTAs

Objectives

By the completion of this course the participant will be able to correctly:

  1. Identify the 2 proposed physiological mechanisms for the use of soft-tissue mobilization with tools (STMT) and describe their roles in facilitating patient recovery from injury.
  2. Perform 2 of 3 techniques using STM tools for both the detection and treatment of common soft-tissue myofascia restrictions in lab.
  3. Formulate 3 potential uses of STMT with simulated patient presentations and special populations.
  4. List the 3 main uses of elastic kinesiology tape (K-Tape) and describe their roles in facilitating patient recovery from injury and/or altered movement mechanisms.
  5. Demonstrate 5 proper applications of elastic kinesiology tape (K-Tape) for the support, neuromuscular re-education, and/or reduction of swelling of joints and muscles.
  6. Formulate 3 potential uses of elastic kinesiology tape (K-Tape) with simulated patient presentations and special populations.

IMPORTANT! 2-3 days prior to the CE event, you will receive your CE materials by email. This gives you the opportunity to preview, download or print, save, and refer back to the information at any time. If you do not receive your CE material please contact us before the day of the course or workshop.
