This lab course teaches participants how to incorporate yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques within an evidence based framework to enhance patient outcomes. You will learn a variety of techniques that are effective for most forms of low back pain. Modifications of asanas/poses will be presented to allow therapists to customize their treatments. The evidence for yoga will be discussed and a variety of case studies and sample patients will provide multiple opportunities to utilize your new skills prior to returning to the clinic. No previous knowledge of yoga is needed.
This course is 50% lab and 50% lecture. Course activities emphasize
