Comprehensive and Practical Management of the Spine

Introduction
This expanded course presents the basis for performing
manual techniques, and emphasizes evaluation and
treatment methods for underlying spinal joint and rib
dysfunctions.
Lecture, demonstration, and lab practice in manual
therapy techniques will allow the physical therapy
professional to gain efficiency in evaluating and
treating common spinal, rib and pelvic
dysfunctions.

Objectives
At the completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Discuss the fundamentals of joint mobilization.
- Apply the principles of spinal mechanics.
- Incorporate myofascial techniques to improve mobility and decrease pain.
- Assess the degree of joint mobility being tested.
- Identify key physical findings to determine appropriate course of treatment.
- Perform appropriate techniques with consideration of patient comfort, body mechanics, hand position, direction and amount of force.
- Identify and perform appropriate basic stabilization exercises.
- Perform safe, basic High Velocity Low Amplitude (HVLA) thrust manipulations as presented.
- Discuss evidence supporting the use of joint mobilization and manipulation.

Brian Trembly, PT, DPT
Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy
Manual Therapy Certified -
Brian Trembly has developed and taught a variety of continuing
education courses for nearly 15 years. He graduated in 1999 with a
master’s in physical therapy from Grand Valley State University in
Michigan and earned a transitional doctorate in physical therapy in 2009
from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Brian is
recognized as a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic
physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties
(ABPTS). He also holds certifications in manual therapy by the
University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and soft tissue manual
tool level 1 by Medical Minds in Motion. Brian currently works in
private practice treating a variety of orthopaedic and sports
conditions with an emphasis in manual therapy.

Cancellations:
Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per
session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received
more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance
of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another
individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for
cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically,
including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.
All unapplied transfers and credits
will expire September 26, 2026.
Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event
up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will
not be responsible for any charges incurred by the
registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other
than the CE event tuition.
