Geriatric Functional Exercise

Description
This course will enhance all rehab professionals'
ability to prescribe, perform, and instruct
effective therapeutic exercise and
functional training for seniors at all levels of
rehab.
An active lab session allows each participant to
experience and guide exercises that facilitate.
Discussion will include considerations for the geriatric
population ranging from the debilitated patient to the
active senior.
A review of therapeutic interventions, developmental
sequence and motor control theory will be applied to
goals of restoring or maximizing our patients'
function.
Instruction level: Basic 70% Lab.

Objectives
At the completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify impaired components of selected functional tasks requiring skilled intervention.
- Determine therapeutic exercises and activities to facilitate effective techniques and functional tasks, including bed mobility, transfers, and gait.
- Correctly perform therapeutic activities as presented to enable accurate instruction of patients.
- Demonstrate improved observation skills of therapeutic exercise and functional training.
- Utilize more techniques for neuromuscular facilitation through the pelvis and trunk.
Presenter
- Lynn Schmitt, PT
- Lynn has been practicing since 1991 in a variety of settings including acute care, chronic pain management, and outpatient orthopedics. She is a graduate of Indiana University School of Physicial Therapy. Her specialties include craniosacral therapy and functional orthopedics. Lynn is also an NSCA-certified personal trainer and Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner.

Cancellations:
Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per
session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received
more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance
of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another
individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for
cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically,
including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.
All unapplied transfers and credits
will expire September 26, 2026.
Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event
up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will
not be responsible for any charges incurred by the
registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other
than the CE event tuition.
