Introduction
Rarely is something new in rehab that truly engrosses a
patient, facilitates optimal function quickly, and is
applicable to all settings. Video game technology as a
component of therapeutic exercise/activities can be
used in home care, skilled nursing, outpatient adult
and pediatric settings, schools, and more. This
exciting and innovative course is engaging, creative,
interactive, and will allow you to experience and
observe this new adjunct approach to
rehabilitation.

- Applications and progression of Wii Sports and Wii Fit and similar softwares.
- Observations, verbal cues, and manual contacts to facilitate optimal functional improvement when using Wii.
- Measurements of progress during therapeutic game activities using Wii.
- Functional tests and subjective outcomes measures related to gaming technology.
- Therapeutic goals and rationale for video game-based exercises.
- Unique modifications for specific patient problems and populations.
- Literature review supporting the use of Wii and similar video feedback systems.
- Documenting gaming technology in rehab as skilled and medically necessary.
Objectives
By the completion of the course the participant will be able to:
- Incorporate Wii and other video "games" into rehab as functional, therapeutic activities.
- Set up Wii games, develop progressions, and measure progress appropriate for your patients.
- Document subjective, objective, and functional gains using video gaming technology and relate improvements to measurable impairments.
- Justify expenses related to equipment, space, and staff to add video gaming technology to your department or facility.

opportunity to preview, download or print, save, and refer back to the
information at any time. If you do not receive your CE material
please contact us before the day of the course or workshop.

Cancellations:
Registration fee, less a $50 administration fee per
session, is refunded if notice of cancellation is received
more than 10 days in advance of the CE event. Cancellations made less than 10 days in advance
of the CE event date forfeit the entire tuition fee. Tuition can be transferred to another
individual or another CE event, one time only. No transfer, refund or credit will be given for
cancellation 3 days or less before the CE event, or when handouts or other CE event materials are available electronically,
including but not limited to emailed or downloadable pdf documents.
All unapplied transfers and credits
will expire September 26, 2026.
Rehab Connections reserves the right to cancel the CE event
up to one week prior to the CE event. Rehab Connections will
not be responsible for any charges incurred by the
registrant due to the cancellation of the CE event, other
than the CE event tuition.
